Eastside Intergroup and the Districts work hand in hand to carry the message. We've
included here some information that may be useful for local AA members who want to get involved
at the District level or need District contact information. If you need the addresses for 7th tradition
contributions, see our new 7th Tradition page

First, a little history ...
The Eastside has blossomed into a pretty large area, and at one time we were all included in
one district, District 13. However, as the population of the area increased, so did our
members. It was deemed necessary that District 13 split into 5 independant districts, Districts
34, 35, 36, 38, and 39 (District 37 is down in the Kelso/Longview area*). While
this was able to make it easier to concentrate service work in the members' home area, it did present
a difficulty in how the different districts would communicate with each other and purchase
materials essential to support that service work. The Seattle Intergroup could provide the literature
materials, but there was still a problem about not having a central office. It just didn't seem
prudent to have 5 different offices since all the districts were so geographically close to each other,
but it didn't seem right to ask Seattle Intergroup to handle this for us as well. It was then determined
that these 5 new districts would get together and establish an Intergroup of their own. This office would
be the used as the primary phone number for AA on the Eastside, it would coordinate the service
requests with the different districts, make literature available, and keep an up to date meeting schedule.
The cooperation between the Intergroup and the Districts are still evident today.
* District 37 was originally formed by groups in Redmond, but had troubles retaining
its leadership. The thought was to have Redmond merge with a surrounding district, and finally Redmond
voted to merge with the Bellevue District, 34. With the dissolution of District 37, a committeeman from
District 7 in Vancouver requested that "37" be given to a new district being formed out of a part of
District 7. This way both districts in Southwest Washington would end in a "7". The Area Committee
subsequently approved both the District 34/37 merger, and reassignment of District 37 to
Kelso/Longview.
District 34
District 34 has become one of the largest Eastside districts, covering most of Redmond and Bellevue. Their
district meetings are on the 1st Tuesday of the month at the Eastside Alano Club at 7:00pm. If your group
would like to send in contributions, they can be mailed to: District 34, PO Box 50081, Bellevue WA 98015
In case you missed District 34's monthly meeting, the minutes are available below so you can get caught up and
still inform your group of what's going on.

District 35
District 35 encompasses all of Issaquah and has quietly become one of the most active districts in the
area. Their district meetings are on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm at the Issaquah Senior Center,
75 NE Creek Way, in Issaquah. If you have a contribution for them, you can send it to:
District 35, PO BOX 442, Issaquah WA 98027.

District 36
District 36 has the difficulty of having the largest areas (spanning from Duvall and Carnation in the
North down to North Bend and Snoqualmie in the South) and one of the smallest populations. Despite
this, they are still a very dedicated district. Their district meeting is on the 1st Tuesday of the
month at 6:00pm at the Fall City Methodist Church.

District 38
District 38 is just the opposite of District 36, they've got a large member base in a small geographical
area. This makes District 38 one of the most supported Eastside districts. Their district meetings
are on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm at the Kirkland Congregational Church. Contributions
to the district can be mailed to District 38, P O Box 321, Kirkland, WA 98083.

District 39
District 39, often gets overlooked since they are on the edge between the Eastside & Sno-King
Intergroups, however, they're one of the most consistent districts in the area. Their meetings
are on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Bothell.
